An initiative that brought together industry, technology and specialized education in Italy

Our Executive Director, Mr. Antonio Miralles, recently participated in an international technology demonstration event held in Italy and promoted by the 3D design team of Decathlon France, developed in collaboration with Arsutoria School, one of the leading international institutions specialized in education for the footwear and leather goods industry.

The aim of the event was to showcase real methodologies currently used in industrial environments, bringing students, specialists and professionals closer to advanced design and digital development processes applied to the footwear sector.

The initiative brought together different stakeholders involved in footwear digital development, combining industrial experience, technology and specialized education within the same working environment. The event included the participation of Decathlon France as the driving force behind the initiative, Arsutoria School as collaborating institution and host of the event, specialists from the Adobe Substance 3D ecosystem, and Red21, contributing its experience in implementation, training and digitalization of processes applied to footwear development.

How Decathlon works with Icad: a demonstration based on real workflows

During the event, the Decathlon team carried out a complete demonstration using the Kiprun line, one of its most representative footwear collections, as an example. This allowed attendees to see live how digital models are created, how 3D materials are accurately applied and how every detail is optimized so that the final result remains faithful to both the aesthetic requirements and the technical specifications of the product.

The demonstration helped participants understand how Icad connects 3D design with technical development in a smooth and coherent workflow, and how features such as the application of materials and textures created with Substance, photorealistic rendering through Blender integration, and real time model editing help reduce errors, accelerate processes and minimize the need for physical prototypes.

The session showcased not only the tools themselves, but also the real working methodology used by an internationally recognized company in digital footwear development.

Red21 participation: technical expertise supporting future footwear professionals

Red21 supported the Decathlon team by providing technical guidance on the advanced use of Icad. During the session, our team shared detailed explanations on optimized model creation, the connection between 3D design and 3D/2D pattern engineering, and the importance of generating clean geometries prepared for production.

Our participation made it possible to explore more technical aspects of Icad, answering questions and demonstrating how digital decisions later influence manufacturing processes.

The fact that an internationally recognized company such as Decathlon invited our company to participate in this event represents a recognition of the work developed through years of technical collaboration and continuous support.

The event also helped strengthen the long standing collaboration between Red21 and Arsutoria School, an institution that has been training its students using Icad solutions for years, and with which we work continuously through support activities, technical assistance and collaborative initiatives.
